Overview
The project consists of the Idaho/Iowa alleyway between Pascal Street and Arona Street as shown on the project map linked on the right. The proposed improvement project includes a mill and overlay of the pavement of the alleyway and modifying the storm water utilities.
Public Process
On May 12, 2021, the City Council ordered a feasibility report and set the public hearing for the project in response to a petition received from over 50% of the adjacent properties. The feasibility report was accepted on May 26, 2021 and plans and specifications were ordered.
A public hearing was held on June 9, 2021, to consider the improvements. The project was scheduled for 2022 to allow time for additional analysis of storm improvements at the alleyway & Pascal St., along with evaluating the project scope to possibly include other alleyways nearby.
An assessment hearing will be held the fall after construction takes place. A mailing and public notice will be sent prior to the assessment hearing.
