How a Candidate Files for Office


A candidate swears (or affirms) that he/she is qualified under the Constitution and Laws of the United States and State of Minnesota to seek the elective public office indicated on the Affidavit.

Ramsey County has provided a link to all required forms.

Qualifications


  • Eligible voter in the City of Roseville where seeking election
  • Has not filed for any other office at this election
  • Name, as written on the affidavit is true name or the name by which he / she is commonly known in the community (Minnesota Stat. 204B.35 prohibits the use of additional descriptive words)
  • Will be 21 years of age or more on assuming office
  • Will be resident of Roseville for at least 30 days by election day

Affidavits of filing will be posted as they arrive. Candidates are listed in alphabetic order.

Where to File


Candidates for offices in Roseville have several options to file. Candidates may file at Ramsey County or with the City of Roseville.

Mail:

An affidavit of candidacy must be notarized by an authorized notary. For locations and hours of notary services throughout the county, visit rcelections.org. Ramsey County will confirm that it has received your affidavit and provide a receipt by email or post. Mail affidavits to Ramsey County Elections, PO Box 64098, Saint Paul, MN 55164.

Candidates may also mail a notarized affidavit of candidacy to the City Roseville or drop it at the drop box at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive. Notarized affidavits must be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 31.

Appointment at Ramsey County Elections:

Schedule a 15-20 minute appointment with filing staff and follow social distancing guidelines and recommendations. Please visit rcelections.org for details prior to filing in person and call 651-266-2171 to schedule an appointment.

Drop-in visit at Ramsey County Elections Office:

One candidate will be queued to file at a time, per social distancing guidelines. Candidates may need to wait in a queue until staff is available. File in person at Ramsey County Elections, 90 Plato Blvd. West, Saint Paul.

  • May 17, 2022 to May 31, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
