Hiring Process
The Roseville Fire Department is currently accepting online employment applications. These applications will be used for an eligibility list for future hiring purposes. We are not hiring at this time.

Who is Eligible to Apply?
There is a residency requirement. Potential firefighters must live within a 10-minute driving time of their assigned fire station.

What Positions are Available?
Associate firefighters are hired as part-time employees who work scheduled part-time shifts at a fire station.

How Many Hours Will I Be Expected to Work?
Part-time firefighters work 12-hour shifts that run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., or 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Firefighters typically work 1 to 2 shifts per week, depending on their availability and the departmental needs. All firefighters are subject to callback for major emergencies.

How Do I Get Training?
Most training is provided while you are working your shift. There is also some training provided on dates / times that you will not be working and my have to attend those as well.

What is the Pay?
Part-time firefighters are compensated at $9.27 per hour.

Are There Minimum / Maximum Age Requirements?
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be a high school graduate or have a GED. There is no maximum age limit so long as the applicant is able to pass the physical exam and physical abilities test.
